A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Dean moved to Germany in 1980. His banking career began at Commerzbank as a member of the Syndicate Desk for debt capital markets, and continued at Chase Bank (media and communication corporate finance) and Trinkaus und Burkhardt (structured finance). In 1994 he moved to Belgium where he established his own company which specialized in treasury advisory and structured finance. During this time, Dean advised financial institutions such as ING Bank and RFC-GMAC, on the structuring of real estate transactions, securitizations, municipal projects and the raising of equity for IT and media companies. Since 1999, all activities were merged into Reel Capital (subsequently WingField Corporation). As Managing Director and Principal, Dean is primarily responsible for structured finance, real estate investments and development as well as principal finance. Dean also serves as a member of the Urban Land Institute Mixed-Use and Office Council. He earned a BA degree (with honors) from Hamline University where he was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. He received a Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst scholarship for his graduate studies at the Ruhr Universität in Bochum, Germany. He is fluent in English, German and Dutch.
